Wheat porridge in a slow cooker - basic principles of cooking

Wheat groats can be of two types: finely chopped Artek and whole. Porridge made from "Artek" is homogeneous, and from whole - crumbly.

Before cooking porridge, wheat groats are thoroughly washed in several waters to get rid of dust and small debris.

Then the cereal is loaded into the multicooker bowl, poured with water or milk and cooked in the "Porridge" or "Pilaf" mode. In the finished dish put butter and mix.

Wheat porridge in a slow cooker can be served as a side dish for fish or meat dishes. If you cook porridge with meat or fish, you get an independent dish. In addition, finely chopped greens and spices are added to such porridge.

Slices of fruit, berries, dried fruits, nuts or pumpkin are added to milk porridge.

Recipe 1. Wheat porridge in a slow cooker in milk

Ingredients

  • wheat groats - 100 g;

  • salt - a pinch;

  • half a liter of milk;

  • 10 g of sugar;

  • butter - 20 g.

Cooking method

1. Pour the groats into a deep bowl and rinse with warm water, changing it at least six times. Water should be clear. Pour the washed grains with hot water and leave for half an hour. Drain the water.

2. Lubricate the multicooker bowl with a piece of butter. Pour a little milk into the container with the cereal and transfer the contents to the bowl. Salt, add sugar and put a piece of butter.

3. Close the lid of the unit and turn on the program "Porridge" for 35 minutes. After the program is completed, leave porridge for another half an hour in the "Heating" mode.

Recipe 2. Loose wheat porridge in a slow cooker on the water

Ingredients

  • multi-glass of wheat groats;

  • salt;

  • 50 g butter;

  • bulb;

  • four multi-glasses of purified water;

  • 50 ml of vegetable oil.

Cooking method

1. Peel the onion and chop it finely.

2. Pour the oil into the bowl and turn on the Frying function. Sauté the onion, stirring constantly, until a delicious golden color.

3. Rinse the wheat groats thoroughly, replacing the water until it becomes clear. Put the groats in a bowl with onions.

4. Pour in water, salt and mix. Turn on the Buckwheat or Porridge program for an hour. Arrange the porridge in plates, adding to each piece of butter. Serve porridge for meat or fish dishes.

Ingredients

  • wheat groats - one multi-glass;

  • butter;

  • 2 multi-glasses of purified water;

  • 300 g of pumpkin pulp.

Cooking method

1. Rinse the wheat groats, constantly changing the water until it becomes clear. Then leave the cereal for half an hour, pouring it with hot water so that the cereal is slightly swollen.

2. Peel the pumpkin. Cut the flesh into small pieces or rub coarsely. Put the chopped pumpkin in the multicooker bowl. Put washed wheat groats here and pour everything with purified water and milk. Salt, add butter and sugar.

3. Turn on the Porridge program and cook for an hour. Leave the porridge in the "Heating" mode for half an hour. Then mix the prepared porridge, arrange it in plates and add oil to each piece.

Recipe 4. Wheat porridge in a slow cooker with meat and raisins

Ingredients

  • 250 g of wheat groats;

  • salt;

  • 400 g of beef;

  • black pepper;

  • 25 ml of vegetable oil;

  • a pinch of cinnamon;

  • 75 g of raisins;

  • a bunch of green onions;

  • 25 g of grated orange peel;

  • 75 g of almonds.

Cooking method

1. Rinse the raisins, pour boiling water and leave for ten minutes. After this time, drain the water, and put the raisins on a napkin so that it is slightly dry.

2. Rinse beef, dampen with napkins and cut into small pieces.

3. Pour oil into the multicooker bowl. Activate the program "Frying". Fry meat for five minutes, occasionally stirring with a wooden spatula.

4. Rinse the wheat groats in several waters until you make it clear. Put the cereal to the meat, mix and pour water so that its level is two centimeters above the cereal. Close the lid and cook, turning on the program "Porridge", 20 minutes.

5. Add almonds, orange zest and raisins. Continue cooking in the same mode for another forty minutes.

6. Put the prepared porridge on plates, sprinkle with finely chopped green onions and garnish with almond kernels.

Recipe 5. Wheat porridge in a slow cooker with nuts and dried fruits

Ingredients

  • 150 g of wheat groats;

  • sugar;

  • three glasses of milk;

  • salt;

  • a glass of filtered water;

  • butter;

  • a set of nuts and dried fruits (prunes, dried apricots, raisins, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts).

Cooking method

1. Sort the cereal and rinse it until clear water. Pour in hot water and leave for half an hour. This is done so that the cereal is slightly swollen.

2. Wash raisins, prunes and dried apricots, pour hot water and leave for a while, so that the dried fruits softened. Cut large dried fruits into several pieces.

3. Put the nuts on one half of a clean linen towel, cover them with the second and slightly chop with a rolling pin.

4. Put the groats in the crock-pot, add nuts and dried fruits. Pour milk and water over everything. Activate the "Porridge" mode for 35 minutes. Then leave the porridge for another half hour in the slow cooker. Mix the prepared porridge, place it in portioned plates, put a piece of butter in each.

Recipe 6. Unusual wheat porridge in a slow cooker with mushrooms

Ingredients

  • wheat groats - a glass;

  • vegetable oil;

  • four glasses of drinking water;

  • 3 g of turmeric;

  • bulb;

  • dried basil;

  • 200 g of mushrooms;

  • salt and spices.

Cooking method

1. Take for mushrooms small mushrooms that do not need to be cut. Peel the onion and chop finely.

2. Turn on the multicooker, pour the oil into the bowl and activate the “Baking” mode for 20 minutes. Put the washed mushrooms and onions in the bowl. Fry, stirring, until a beep is heard.

3. Rinse the wheat grits several times until clear water. Put the groats in the bowl, fill everything with water, salt, season everything with spices and cook in the "Porridge" mode, closing the lid. 20 minutes is enough. Mix the prepared porridge and serve with fresh vegetables or pickles.

Recipe 7. Wheat porridge in a slow cooker with chicken hearts

Ingredients

  • 350 g of chicken hearts;

  • bulb;

  • two multi-cups of wheat groats;

  • two carrots;

  • 7 g of salt;

  • black pepper.

Cooking method

1. Thaw hearts completely, wash and cut off excess fat. Cut each heart in half. Put the offal in a bowl, pour 100 ml of drinking water and turn on the “Braising” program for an hour.

2. Peel the onion and carrots. Chop a quarter of the onion rings. Coarsely grate the carrots. Put the slow cooker in the "Baking" mode. Open the multicooker lid and fry the hearts, stirring constantly, until all the moisture has evaporated. Then move the hearts to make room in the center.   • 50 ml olive oil;

  • pod of sweet red pepper.

Cooking method

1. Pour olive oil into the multicooker bowl, activate the "Frying" mode. Time will be set automatically.

2. Peel onions and carrots. Cut the carrots into small cubes. Chop the onion as finely as possible.

3. Wash the red pepper pod, cut along and remove the stem, seeds and septum. Dice the pepper itself.

4. Put all the vegetables in a bowl in sequence in the following order: onions, carrots and peppers. Stir and fry for about ten minutes.

5. Add the stew to the vegetables. If large pieces come across, cut them into several pieces.

6. Rinse cereals in warm water until it becomes clear. Transfer the cereal into the bowl, add the green beans, cut into two-centimeter pieces.

7. Mix all ingredients, season with dry thyme and salt. Close the unit cover. Turn on the Porridge program and cook for half an hour.

Wheat porridge in a slow cooker - tricks and tips

  • Ready porridge can be seasoned with butter, linseed or olive oil.

  • For cereal, choose cereals packaged in bags. This grits retains all its taste.

  • A delicious porridge is obtained only if the correct proportions of liquid and water are observed. Use a measuring cup or multi-glass.

  • For liquid cereal, one part of the cereal needs to take six parts of the liquid.

  • To make the porridge friable, take three parts of water for one part of the cereal.
