The American anthropologist put forward an original idea: according to the scientist, the most important character trait of a potential sexual partner is playfulness. To confirm this theory, a study was conducted, which involved 327 young people from different European countries.
Volunteers were provided with 16 characteristics. Among them, it was necessary to choose those that are fundamentally important for building a serious relationship. Both men and women were in most cases united. However, for women, a sense of humor was more important than for men. Representatives of a strong half of humanity said: they want their partner to be interesting.
Also on the top of the list were mind, humor, gaiety and friendliness. Although playfulness was in the middle of the list, participants with these qualities tended to be in a relationship, unlike their less playful tribesmen.
